HOW TO PLAY CASINO BLACKJACK.

Welcome to our quick casino blackjack guide. Here you will find a condensed tutorial as to how casino blackjack differs from the rules of the regular game we all know and love. Each article in this section will aim to give information about a certain aspect of the game of blackjack, each building on the last to give you a brief introduction to the most important themes.

Casino Blackjack rules are essentially the same as regular blackjack rules but with a few modifications. In casino blackjack up to seven players sit around a semi-circle shaped table and all play against the dealer rather than each other. At the commencement of each round of play players put their wager in what is known as a 'betting box' and are dealt two cards. As with other variants of blackjack the aim for all the players at the table, is to draw cards that add up to as close to 21 without going over it and thus busting. Cards 2-9 are worth the numbers they depict, 10, J, Q, K are all worth 10 points and the aces are either worth 1 or 11 depending on each player's choice. The best possible hand in blackjack is a blackjack, which is worth 21 with only the two cards the player was dealt, which have to be any card worth ten points and an ace that will count as eleven.

Players are also allowed to place a side bet as an insurance against loosing when they see that the dealer has a particularly strong face-up card that may lead to a blackjack. In this case the side bet pays players 2:1.

Dealers will usually play from a set of instructions handed down from the house. These instructions can resemble something like: Less than seventeen, hit, more than seventeen, stand, soft seventeen (made up of an ace that can stand as either 1 or eleven) either hit or stand (depending on house rules)

Players go first, drawing or being 'hit' with cards until they are as close to 21 as they want to go without the worry of busting. Then the dealer goes, if the dealer busts they loose to the entire table. A dealer's hand can also beat some players at the table while not beating others, or where there is a draw, the hand is referred to as a 'push' and all players are given their money back. The majority of blackjack wagers will pay off at a ratio of 1:1 although blackjacks only pay 2:1 and according to certain house rules these figures can be even less, thus gving the house a greater advantage.
